Celebrities Honor Karl Lagerfeld at 2023 Met Gala Officially, the Met Gala is the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit. Unofficially, it’s the party of the year, bringing together some of the biggest names from Hollywood, fashion, politics, media and music. This year, the gala was an homage to Karl Lagerfeld, the longtime designer of Chanel, Fendi and his own line. Lagerfeld, who helped shape the modern fashion world, died in 2019. Many attendees used their outfits as a way to honor Lagerfeld and his legacy. Some looks appeared to be inspired by Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, who did not attend. After months of buildup, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding ceremony took place on Friday at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, kicking off the weekend of celebrations planned. If there’s any wedding that would have a red carpet, it’s this one — given the sheer amount of celebrities that show up and the fabulous Indian clothes on display. For Friday’s celebrations, the pool of celebrity guests included Bollywood superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, much of India’s cricket team and John Cena. Kim and Khloé Kardashian and former British prime minister Boris Johnson were also in attendance.
