Who is Millie's favorite 80s icon? Oh, I think I know. Is she 80s? Is she from the 80s? She's not 80s? Okay, not that one. I don't think you're gonna guess this one, though. It's a man. Oh, a man.
Jimmy Kimmel may have been silenced by ABC on Wednesday, when the network indefinitely suspended the comedian’s late-night show after apparent pressure from the Trump Administration, but his fellow hosts weren’t quiet about it on their late-night shows. I know they look like they're extras in this movie, but that's really them. My stepmother is a Sikh. My father is from the sort of hippie counterculture. Grew up in San Fran and Los Angeles. Hung out with a lot of the underground art movement in Los Angeles in the '70s.
Greta Thunberg has been deported from Israel after the humanitarian aid ship she was aboard was intercepted by the Israeli military. The Swedish climate activist was among a 12-person crew on board the Madleen, a vessel organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), which was carrying aid including rice, flour, and baby formula to Gaza. Thunberg had joined the mission to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The remaining crew members are also being deported, Israel’s Foreign Ministry said, with some refusing to sign documents and expected to face a judicial process before being sent to their home countries. The Madleen was intercepted in international waters shortly after 3 a.m. local time on Monday, June 9, according to FFC, a group that describes itself as a “grassroots solidarity movement” working to end Israel’s blockade of Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had acted in accordance with international law in imposing the naval blockade, while FFC maintains the seizure of the vessel defies the International Court of Justice’s binding orders requiring unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza. After ICE agents detained her husband on Aug. 20, a woman wept outside a federal building in New York City, holding her child. A nearby security guard was also moved to tears as he watched the scene unfold. Photographer Carol Guzy (@carolguzy) captured the moment, later named one of TIME’s Top 10 Photos of 2025. Guzy spent five months in the courthouse documenting similar scenes as the Trump administration ramped up deportation efforts throughout 2025, focusing on people it described as “criminals.” At the time the picture was taken, it was unclear whether the detained man faced any criminal charges. I wasn't quite sure in the beginning why this photo was resonating with so many people, but I've come to realize that even though it's a very quiet image, the security guard breaking down in tears, someone you wouldn't expect, you know, a professional
