Waking up at 3 or 4 a.m. and can’t fall back asleep? @hubermanlab explains why. Around that time, your melatonin levels drop naturally. If you’re consistently waking up in those early hours, it’s likely that you’re running out of melatonin because you stayed up too late for your body’s natural rhythm. Some people are simply built to fall asleep earlier, their circadian clock runs ahead. Trying to push your bedtime later can create that 3 a.m. wake-up pattern. Your brain’s “seesaw” between alertness and calm works best when you align with your body’s natural timing. When you stay up late under bright light, you delay melatonin release — then it drops too soon in the night, waking you up mid-cycle. So if you’re tired of those 3 a.m. wake-ups, don’t fight your biology.. work with it! Get morning sunlight to anchor your rhythm, dim lights at night, and honor your body’s clock.
a lot of people wake up at 3 or 4 a.m. and can't fall back asleep. Here's probably the reason. We can all push on and stay awake more easily than we can just force ourselves to sleep. If you're waking up at 3 or 4 a.m., unless you're drinking too many fluids, and that's the reason why, chances are you are running out of melatonin. What it means is you stayed up too late, and you probably are

FOOD = CODE that reprograms your body in MINUTES! Every bite you take is literally rewriting your gene expression, hormones, brain chemistry, and immune system. Most people have NO IDEA their symptoms are caused by what they’re eating. I just had an amazing chat with @jayshetty, breaking down: - Why 93% of Americans are metabolically broken - The difference between medicinal vs inflammatory foods - How ultra-processed foods reprogram your biology for illness + I’m finally opening up about my near-death experience that changed everything for me just a few short months ago… Stop accepting fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and depression as “normal.” These are signals your body is sending you. Listen to them. The power to transform your health is literally on your plate - and it starts with your very next meal.

What if preparing for pregnancy started long before trying to conceive? @annshippymd explains why the months before pregnancy may be one of the most important windows for shaping a child’s future health. Nutrition, stress, environmental toxins, mitochondrial function, and the microbiome all influence fertility. They also affect the health of the next generation. The encouraging part is that many of these factors are modifiable. Taking 3 to 12 months to prepare your body before pregnancy can improve fertility, support healthier pregnancies, and potentially influence long-term outcomes for both parents and children. Preparing for a baby isn’t only about conception but also creating the healthiest possible start for the next generation. Drop a YES below for a link to this full conversation. 🎧
It’s not the Ozempic. It’s the diet. These weight loss drugs can help some people in the short term, but they don’t fix the root causes of weight gain and metabolic dysfunction. If you lose weight without prioritizing food quality, protein, and strength training, you’re likely losing muscle - your body’s metabolic engine. That slows your metabolism and makes long-term weight maintenance even harder. One of my patients lost only 2 pounds on Ozempic. But when he focused on protein, real food, and exercise, he lost 60 pounds, reversed his diabetes, and reclaimed his health. Before we rush to prescriptions, we need to start with the fundamentals: - 1 gram of protein per pound of ideal body weight - Strength training at least 3x per week - Real, whole foods every day I’m not opposed to these drugs. I’m opposed to the idea that they’re the first and only solution, and the lack of research on other interventions that work better. Patients deserve all the information about both the benefits and the risks, so they can make truly informed choices.
I think, personally, I think it's malpractice to prescribe one of these drugs.
