The spirits of classic Italian movies and historical costume balls awaken in Rome to find the preparations underway for the unveiling of @MariaGraziaChiuri’s #DiorCruise 2026 collection at the #VillaAlbaniTorlonia. Evoking characters associated with masters like Visconti and Fellini, their otherworldly existence is bewitchingly brought to life in the opening scenes of @Matteo_Garrone_Official’s specially created film, ‘Les Fantômes du Cinéma’.  © Fondazione Torlonia

Dior and Japan share a great love of gardens, an indissociable code of House and country alike. For #DiorFall25, unveiled in a magnificent Kyoto garden, @MariaGraziaChiuri punctuated the collection with a variety of looks featuring floral references, among them ‘Jardin Japonais’, an archival cherry blossom motif dating to 1953, reinterpreted in a variety of techniques from print to weaving to embroidery. The symbolic and aesthetic quality of flowers enable us to both understand the origin of Monsieur’s Dior’s designs and taste, they also allow us to appreciate a crucial aspect of Japanese decorative culture exemplified by ikebana, the art of flower arranging. It is present not only in the carefully placed motifs but in literal form too, as several models carried ikebana arrangements in their bags.
