Comment CHILI to get the full recipe! This is an easy, versatile chili oil you can make at home with just a few ingredients. Whether you are adding it to dumplings, wontons, rice, noodles, or eggs, chili oil can add flavors to any dish and makes everything taste better! By making it yourself, you can control the heat level and flavor profile. My mom’s chili oil is packed with black vinegar and garlic, which makes this recipe unique. You can easily customize it to suit your taste!
This is my mom's chili oil. She used to make a gallon of this chili oil every day at her restaurant. We would put this chili oil on everything from dumplings, wontons, to tofu and noodles. To make it, start by combining chili flakes, chili powder, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, and black vinegar. Then pour the hot oil over your chili sauce to bring out the aroma. Once cool, transfer the chili oil to an airtight jar and you can store
Comment EGG to get the full recipe! Tea Eggs are my favorite childhood snacks. As soon as you walk into a 7-Eleven in Taiwan, you can smell the aromatics from tea eggs. Tea eggs are hard-boiled eggs that are gently cracked and then simmered in a savory mixture of tea, soy sauce, and spices. The flavors slowly seep into the eggs creating a beautiful marble or spider web like pattern. Not only are they so pretty, tea eggs also make a great high protein and low calorie snack or a perfect addition to a simple meal! Ingredients: 10-12 Tea Eggs 3 cups water 3 black tea bags 1/4 cup light soy sauce 4 tbsp dark soy sauce 1 cinnamon stick 3 star anise 4 dried chili 3 bay leaves 1-2 tbsp rock sugar Directions: 1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil. Bring down to a simmer, cover the pot with a lid, and let it simmer for another 10 minutes. Once cooked, remove the eggs and place them in a bowl of ice water to cool down. 2. Once the eggs are cool enough to touch, gently crack the shells with the back of a spoon. 3. In a large pot, add the cracked eggs, water, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, cinnamon, star anise, dried chili, bay leaves, rock sugar, and black tea bags. 4. Bring the tea mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Let the eggs simmer for at least 2 hours. The long they simmer, the more intense flavor and color. Alternatively, you can leave the eggs soaked in the tea mixture overnight or 24 hours before serving.

Did you know that if you add soy sauce, cupi mayo, sriracha, and sesame oil to salmon, mix them together, then pour rice vinegar and sugar to sushi rice, take a spoonful of that rice on top of nori sheet, press it down lightly into a muffin tin, top it with marinated salmon and bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Once it's baked, all that's left to do is drizzle sriracha mayo
An oldie but a goodie, either way soup dumplings is always a good idea 🥟 Spicy miso sauce is a flavorful blend of miso paste, spicy bean sauce, and seasonings, creating a perfect balance of umami richness. It is very versatile and can be used as marinade or dipping sauce. In this recipe, I paired the sauce with @eat.mila frozen soup dumplings. You can use any frozen dumplings you like. The whole dish comes together in one pot and takes less than 15 minutes! Let's make soup dumplings in spicy miso. This sauce is inspired by the spicy miso ramen I had during a recent trip to Japan. To make the sauce, first saute garlic, ginger, and scallion to bring out the aroma. Then add chicken broth, miso paste, spicy bean sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then add in your frozen dumplings, cover with the lid, and cook for about 10 minutes, and that's it!
