Life is a series of opportunities that appear daily, and we choose what to do with them. Today was no different. Early this morning I was walking on the beach and Onyx started barking at a pile of ocean trash that had washed during high tide. When I came closer I saw this beautiful turtle turned upside down with a look of hopelessness and exhaustion in her eyes, her body knotted and entangled in a fishing net. I immediately started to free her from the net that was strangling her, but even after we got her untied, she was too tired to make her way back to the ocean. I didn’t think twice, I just picked her up and carry her to the water.(amazing how adrenaline can make you stronger!) I felt relieved and so happy to see her swim away freely, grateful that I was there and able to help. But there are so many other animals that unfortunately end up dying on nets like this. Today I was reminded that we must become more aware of our ways as a species and help protect all animals, it's our choice. I pray that we can all rise and remember that the opportunity to change begins with a single act 🙏 A vida é uma série de oportunidades que aparecem diariamente, e nós escolhemos o que fazer com elas. Hoje não foi diferente. De manhã cedinho, estava caminhando na praia, e meu cachorro começou a latir para uma pilha de lixo na areia que veio com a maré alta. Quando cheguei mais perto, vi a tartaruga de cabeça para baixo com uma expressão de desespero e cansaço nos olhos, o corpo atado e emaranhado em uma rede de pesca. Imediatamente comecei a libertá-la da rede que a estava estrangulando, mas mesmo depois de desamarrá-la, vi que estava cansada demais para voltar ao oceano. Então a peguei e carreguei para a água. Incrível como a adrenalina pode nos tornar mais fortes! Fiquei muito feliz ao vê-la livre nadando para longe. Fiquei muito grata por estar lá para ajudá-la, mas existem tantos outros animais que infelizmente acabam morrendo em redes como esta. Podemos nos tornar mais conscientes de nossos caminhos como espécie e ajudar a proteger os animais, é uma escolha. Rezo para que todos possamos nos conscientizar e lembrar que a oportunidade de mudar começa com um único ato.

Fico muito feliz que minha intenção de retribuir um pouco por tudo o que a Mãe Terra me deu nesses 40 anos, acabou alcançando milhares de pessoas em todo mundo e vamos conseguir plantar muito mais do que as 40mil árvores que doei. Graças à ajuda de pessoas como vocês, que entenderam a importância de restaurar e cuidar da natureza plantaremos mais de 250 mil árvores na Amazônia! Obrigada aqueles que doaram e também a todos que compartilharam essa campanha com os amigos, que plantaram árvores com as próprias mãos e fizeram questão de postar fotos e a todos aqueles que, de alguma maneira, colaboraram. A ação de aniversário está acabando, mas a ideia de achar formas de retribuir pela vida na data do seu aniversário continua. Imagina o impacto que teríamos se cada pessoa plantasse uma única árvore em seu aniversário. Seria transformador. Mais uma vez muito obrigada pela participação de todos e Viva a Vida! 💚🙏🌳 Thank you. I’m beyond happy that my intention to give back a little for everything that Mother Earth has given me in my 40 years has reached thousands of people all over the world and we will be able to plant much more than the 40 thousand trees I have donated. Thanks to the help of people like you, who understand the importance of restoring and taking care for nature, we will plant more than 250 thousand trees in the Amazon! Thank you to those who donated and also to everyone who shared this campaign with friends, who planted trees with their own hands and made a point of posting pictures and to all those who in some way collaborated. The birthday campaign is ending, but the idea of finding ways to give back for life on your birthday continues. Imagine the impact we would have if each person planted a single tree on their birthday. It would be so transformative! Thanks again for everyone's participation and Viva a Vida!
