Young Thug says he’s too big for jail. “But I think I’m not too big for God.” Last October, the rapper who has defined the sound of Atlanta rap—and thus the sound of rap music in general—walked free from Fulton County jail. It had been almost two and half years that Young Thug had been incarcerated as part of the longest criminal trial in Georgia history and one of the most fraught spectacles in modern music. Since getting out, Thug has mostly laid low, to the point of sometimes wearing a mask in public. He has not said much about the last few years of his life, or about anything at all, really.
