My everyday partner @audi_aut 🖤 Off to Lillehammer for the upcoming season opener 🥰🇳🇴 #keepgoing
Hey guys, Some of you have probably noticed, that I have been a lot quieter on here lately. I haven’t shared much and honestly that’s because I needed space. Space to reflect and to process and to be really honest with myself about where I am. The truth is. I have been struggling. Struggling to feel connected to this life I have lived for so many years. Struggling to find the joy, the fire, the purpose behind it all. The hardest thing is. I have always had this big dream to win an olympic medal. That’s what drove me every single day. And honestly when I missed out in 2022 it hit harder than I expected. But after that I always told myself I have to keep on going. Four more years, one more chance, just finish your story. I kept going. Because I thought I had to. Because I wanted to finish my story. Because I thought others wanted to see me finish my story. But somewhere I sopped truly living it. The joy was gone and without joy even the most beautiful story loses its light. This all of a sudden felt empty. I thought I was inspiring people by pushing through, by never giving up. But the reality is - I wasn’t being true to myself. And how can I inspire others if I am living a version of a dream that’s no longer mine? I have always been proud of being someone who never gives up. That’s what makes this decision so fucking hard. Because this isn’t the ending I imagined. It’s not the way I wanted this story to end. But what is worth a medal without joy? And even though this ending hurts, I am proud. I am proud that I am finally brave enough to accept it, to listen to my body & heart. Finally brave enough to let go. To everyone who has been part of this all, who supported me, who believed in me, who cheered for me. Who walked my path with me. Thank you with all my heart. This journey was crazy, crazy beautiful. This is it. This is my story.
